Blue is the hands down "favorite color" of men and women alike. Perhaps it is the association with water and the ocean or the clear daytime sky. Or maybe it is because blue is considered to have a calming effect.

Often associated with depth and stability, blue symbolizes loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith and truth.

Blue is beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism, curbs appetite (!) and produces a calming effect. It is also is strongly associated with tranquility and calmness.


Different shades convey different meanings. For example, light blue is associated with health, healing, tranquility, understanding, and softness. Whereas dark blue represents knowledge, power, integrity, and seriousness.
